The Late Carl Sagan is photograph next to the Winged Planet. In his book Contact, and on page 431 in the authors note. The late Carl Sagan pays tribute, among others, to the late I. S. Shklovskii, and acknowledge I. S. Shklovskii as one of SETI pioneers.
But the question remains as to why would Carl Sagan would want to be associated with this very ancient representation of the Sumerian Winged Planet.
