People live in Gale Crater on Mars, folks.
Look to the HILLS. Look to the Far RIGHT....See that curving ROAD? Maybe it is a wall. Still, it CURVES.
Look at the buildings on the Ridge Crests. Notice that they all have dark WINDOWS. The buildings lie LOW to the hills, just like you wound find in the canyons of Los Angeles...
Look at that Martian MACHINE below them, maybe a UTILITY building of some kind or other....
