The GOBI DESERT. Slowly creeping up on CHINA with dust storms caused by DEFORESTATION.
The DESERT is expanding at a rate of over a thousand acres a year.
TREES are being planted as a last minute BULWARK against the approaching sands, but any effect will only be temporary at best.
Look at the SAHARA.
DUST never sleeps.
That RED WORM there is known as the LEGENDARY OLGHOI KHORKHOI WORM. REAL?

Ever see the movie HIDALGO? THAT Silvery GREEN POOL at the top right may be a SHOTT or SABKHAHS.
Best description is a CRUSTED OVER SALT SEA INLET or POOL.
The CRUST is composed of GYPSUM, CALCITE and ARAGONITE. Barely strong enough to support a HUMAN, let alone a MAN on a HORSE or CAMEL.
