Before they reteam for The Expendables 3, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger will look to break out of the world's most secure prison facility in Escape Plan, and Summit Entertainment has now released the first clip from the film, which sees the two action icons duking it out with one another. Take a look after the official synopsis...
Ray Breslin [Stallone], the world’s foremost authority on structural security, agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called “The Tomb.” But when he is wrongly imprisoned, he must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer [Schwarzenegger] to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.
Earlier this year, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone attempted two solo comeback vehicles with The Last Stand and Bullet to the Head. Both films underperformed (despite being enjoyable action romps), suggesting that audiences only want more of these action legends within the confines of their throwback ’80s ensembles in The Expendables series.
The upcoming Schwarzenegger/Stallone team-up flick Escape Plan looks ready to challenge that assumption. Stallone plays structural security expert Ray Breslin, who commits the cardinal sin of old-school action flicks: He accepts one last job before retiring. The gig? Breaking out of the world’s most high-tech – and super-secret – prison, known as “The Tomb,” which was the film’s original title. Things go wrong, of course, and Breslin is betrayed and locked inside. He ends up planning a seemingly impossible breakout along with another inmate, Emil Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger).
Perihelion is the point in the orbit of a comet where it is closest to the sun

Comet C/2013 R1 Lovejoy
Perihelion: 25 Dec 2013
Comet C/2013 R1 Lovejoy as seen at astronomical twilight in the morning from the SSO scopes.
Terry Lovejoy has done it again, finding his foruth comet, and a bright one at that (or rather it will become a bright one). Currently around magnitude 14 (or maybe a bit brighter) in Monoceros, it will brighten over the next few months to a predicted maximum of magnitude 8 on the 25th of December.
It's early days, but there is some suggestion it might be a gassy comet, and it might possibly get brighter than magnitude 8 (maybe 7).
Close up of C/2013 R1 Lovejoy as seen from the SSO scopes. The rectangle is the field of view of the T9 instrument. The comet passes some interesting territory as it brightens.Click to embiggen.
Initially the comet is visible from both the northern and SSO scopes, with the SSO having the best views, as the months progress the northern scopes are favoured. At its brightest, the comet will only be visible from the northern scopes (and in a very good position for imaging).
SSO iTelescope T17 was invloved in confirming the comet.
The "comet convoy" as seen from New Mexico at 5:30 am local time on 11 November (ignore the 23:00, on the map, that is ACST)
An interesting feature in the coming months is what Stuart Atkinson calls the "comet convoy". C/2013 R1 Lovejoy, 2P/Enke and 2012 S1 ISON all line up in the evening sky. This will only be seen in the northern hemisphere, 2P/Enke is too low in the southern hemisphere for effective observation during the "convoy" phase of the lineup.
November already promised to be a good month with ISON bright, but with the addition of Lovejoy the 4th it's even better. If ISON survives it's journey round the sun December will be a happy comet hunters month with ISON and Lovejoy passing 8 degrees away on the 20th.
