Well, Yuri Gagarin was first to leave earth's Atmosphere-but the first to break free ENTIRELY from the pull of GRAVITY were the men of APOLLO EIGHT:
Commander FRANK BORMAN
Command Module Pilot JAMES LOVELL
Lunar Module Pilot WILLIAM ANDERS
Dec. 21, 1968. It was a THREE DAY TRIP, which means that they arrived on CHRISTMAS EVE!
These were the FIRST HUMANS to see the far side of the Moon, so these men received one HELL of a SHOCK!
They were the FIRST to see the INDUSTRIOUS MOON FOLK!
They read from the Book of Genesis.
Folks say in response to Russian Premier NIKITA KHRUSHCHEV'S statement:
"Yuri Gagarin went into space and did not see GOD..."
Well, GAGARIN did not see the FAR SIDE of the MOON!
The Apollo Eight Astronauts read from the Book of Genesis because they were SHAKEN to their cores!
