HELEN after TROY

HELEN after TROY

It is very hard to find one coherent story concerning the fate of HELEN after the TROJAN WAR.

According to some, after her husband Menelaus killed Paris, her trojan lover, she went back to Greece as a Heroine-she was the one whom signaled the waiting Greeks in the giant horse....They say that she lead the drunken revelry in TROY after the greeks supposedly departed...She is the reason the Trojans were caught with their pants down...

Others say that she was actually attracted to HECTOR, Paris' brother, and lost all hope after ACHILLES killed Hector and dragged his body through the streets.....

But the most interesting story involves EGYPT...

It is said that the Greeks, after sacking TROY, went to EGYPT in search of the escaped Helen, and found her under the protection of RAMSES mother TUYA, whom felt that she was under obligation to give sanctuary to a sister QUEEN.

What was first obligation turned to sincere friendship.

When MENELAUS and crew came to EGYPT, they barked orders to TUYA, whom sat the throne of Egypt as REGENT following the recent death of her husband, SETI.

They ordered her to let HELEN come back to Greece with them....

Tuya REFUSED, as Helen feared Menelaus and what he would do to her once she was back in his clutches...

Tuya refused as ANY Queen would do in such circumstances....

Menelaus and his men relented, biding their time. Some actually became employees of the royal household...

Menelaus and his men became involved in a plot to kill Tuya's son and next Pharaoh RAMSES....

The GREEKS took innocents hostage aboard their ship once their assassination plot failed, and stated quite plainly that they would kill them all unless Helen was allowed to leave with them.

Unknown to Tuya, Helen slipped out of the royal palace and turned herself over to Menelaus....

Once out to sea, she took POISON and ended her life....
