GHOSTS of the SS WATERTOWN

Description:

Seamen Michael Meehan and James Courtney had a bad day....

And it got WORSE once they DIED....

One morning in December, 1924, aboard the SS WATERTOWN, the two men were ordered to clean a holding tank that had just been emptied of it's cargo of GASOLINE.

The unlucky duo were overcome by the fumes and were long dead by the time their fellow crewmen missed them and came looking.

They were given a burial at sea on December 4, 1924...

The morning of Dec. 5th, things began to get interesting...

The LOOKOUT came before the Captain of the ship, visibly pale and shaken...

He refused to go back to his post.

He claimed that the two dead men were swimming after the ship!

Before the captain had time to digest this particularly unsettling bit of information, he heard the sounds of the entire upper deck of the ship in an uproar!

He walked out and saw every man aboard clustered up against the rails, terror stricken..

The captain looked past them....

And INDEED, there were two men in the sea, easily keeping pace with the ship, staring sightlessly up at them the entire time!

This went on for two days, terror ran the ship....

Once the SS WATERTOWN arrived in port at the New York Harbor, the PINKERTON Detective Agency was hired by the ship's owners to investigate, for the ENTIRE crew disembarked and absolutely REFUSED to board again!

A new crew was hastily hired. The Pinkerton Agency gave the Captain a camera and asked him to snap a few photos next time the two men RE-SURFACED....

The very next day, just an hour or so after the ship got underway for New Orleans, the two heads bobbed above the water...

The Captain took the above photograph...

It has been exhaustively taken apart by photographic experts for the last 87 years...

IT IS AUTHENTIC, Folks!
