A RODNEY DANGERFIELD TALE

A RODNEY DANGERFIELD TALE

Description:

Rodney Dangerfield used to be a Comedy Club owner. He owned "DANGERFIELD'S", in New York, which he opened in 1969 and is still going strong TODAY.

He was the first person to give young EDDIE MURPHY his first opportunity at being a comedian before a live, paying audience.

A SIXTEEN year old EDDIE took to the stage with nothing but DOO-DOO jokes, DICK jokes, and every joke that Richard Pryor had ever done.

He was decidedly UNFUNNY. He got the news from Rodney after the show:

"You will NEVER make it as a comedian, Kid......"

TEN YEARS LATER:

Eddie Murphy is the biggest name in comedy. The entire world has his name on their lips.

Eddie, at the very HEIGHT of his fame, walks into a Las Vegas restroom to relieve himself.

Standing there at the urinal doing his business is Rodney Dangerfield, also at the height of HIS fame.

Eddie stands next to him and-NOTHING.

Not a GLIMMER of recognition. Rodney finishes without even looking over.

Eddie is wondering if it is REALLY Rodney or some fake Vegas look-alike.

Rodney gets to the door, then turns around and says to Eddie:

"WHO KNEW?"

Then walks out.....
