They look familiar Gordon... So few people turn up to Ramsay's Masterchef auditions producers had to 'enhance' a crowd scene

'Thousands upon thousands' turned up to audition for Gordon Ramsay's latest cooking competition in Los Angeles.
Or so producers would have you believe.
A closer look at the opening sequence of Fox's MasterChef, which featured a baying crowd desperate to become Ramsay's next protÃ©gÃ©, reveals the scene was faked.
At least three clusters of people appear to have been replicated and stuck in the background, filling out the scene.
The results are obvious, especially one woman who'd donned a glaring orange top and stood out a mile.
A screen shot of the fakery, complete with circles around the replicated crowd, was first posted on Reddit, after a hawk-eyed viewer clocked the doctored scene right at the beginning of Monday's fifth episode.
We have reviewed the footage and itâ€™s clear that the scene was enhanced in post-production,' Reveille Productions, who produce the show along with Shine TV, told InsideTV in a statement.
'We sincerely apologise to our viewers and hope that they still enjoyed the show.'
However, even though that handy crowd shot is now on the cutting room floor for good, producers still claim that thousands of people did try out for the show.
