ZEUS, GOD of MAN

Cronus, father of ZEUS, had overthrown HIS father, Ouranos/Uranus, in battle, BITING off his SCROTUM and casting it into the sea, where it begat the Goddess APHRODITE.

This is as good a place as any to relate some of the tale of the God Of Man, the God of Seduction, The MIGHTY Zeus.

Cronus married his sister RHEA. Some say that she was his DAUGHTER....They had five children, and were about to have a FIFTH....

Gaia, the Earth Mother, wife of OURANOS/Uranus, had abetted her son Cronus in his battle against her husband, telling him that the only way to defeat Uranus was by Dis-MEMBER-ing him....

Now, she had more bad news for him...

One of his children would one day soon do the SAME to Cronus.

So, Cronus began to swallow his children Demeter, Hades, HERA, Hestia, Poseidon.....

Zeus was about to be born, and he would be swallowed up as well. in a panic, Rhea contacted the schemer GAIA, and hatched a plan to save her last child. She switched the newborn with an appropriate ROCK, wrapped it in baby LINEN, presented it to Cronus, who immediately SWALLOWED it.

Baby Zeus was spirited away to the island of CRETE, where he was nurse-maided and protected by the DIVINE goat AMALTHEA.....

But there are SEVERAL divine beings that claim to have been his chaperon in that cave on Mt. Ida in Crete...

Once Zeus reached manhood, he immediately began his campaign against his father. Cronus was made to disgorge the five children he swallowed. Zeus then went on to free Cronus' imprisoned brothers, broken and defeated after defending their father Uranus....

He was gifted with the power of control over ELECTRICITY, the LIGHT of the Universe...

He could now hurl THUNDERBOLTS and LIGHTNING.

Zeus then went on to DIVIDE the realms of the world between himself and his elder brothers, CHEATING Hades in the process, by giving him the realm of HELL....

Zeus then married his SISTER Hera.....

Created OLYMPUS, home of the Gods...

And began a career marred by ABDUCTIONS, SEX and ILLEGITIMATE Godlings...

If Zeus is not the TRUE God of the Male on Earth, then I don't know what else you could call him.

He is worshipped as the ALL-FATHER, he is JUPITER to the Romans, Tinia to the Etruscans...

He is considered to be Clear-Headed, WISE and FAIR and Well-Balanced...

He just has a SEX problem, but that is the MORTAL view.

And the view of HERA, as well.....
