WARRIORS of CHAN CHAN

Description:

The CHIMU were peaceful Fishermen and Artisans....

It is believed that the very design of the city reflects the deep reverence the inhabitants of Chan Chan had for the SEA....

NETS and Aquatic Life are the motifs of several Homes and temples in this formerly eight square mile ancient city.....

Chan Chan and the Chimu people had already fallen to Inca rule by the time Pizarro and his men made their way to the legendary City of Gold...

It is the very city, the "El Dorado" that Sir Walter Raleigh was searching for....

EVERY WALL in this fabulous city were once adorned with GOLD....

As well as the PAVING of certain streets!

The Chimu Army were equipped with with the usual arrows, spears and shields, but what made them truly fearsome were the huge, metal studded clubs that were used to smash and crush their opponents to a pulp....

But, they were simply out-manned by the Inca, whose army employed similar methods, with three or four times the MANPOWER....

The Chimu were assimilated into the Inca Empire, Inca Puppet Kings placed on the thrones of Chan Chan....
