FAREWELL, CLIFF ROBERTSON

FAREWELL, CLIFF ROBERTSON

One of my favorite human beings...

Took a stand against the larcenous practices of most Hollywood producers...

One in particular, David Begelman, forged Robertson's signature on a $10,000 check and cashed it.

Robertson protested most vociferously, initiating a lawsuit that exposed the ugly underneath, once again, of Tinseltown...

Overnight, the name Cliff Robertson became MUD. He received THREATS over the phone and the film offers completely dried up.....

But Robertson NEVER backed down.

Begelman eventually committed suicide...

Hell of a story, should you want to search it out and get the full details.

Best movie?

"CHARLY", the film version of Daniel Keyes' TERRIFIC book "Flowers for Algernon".

Robertson won the Academy Award for his performance...

Also, he was EXTREMELY good in "THE BEST MAN", with Henry Fonda, a COMPLETE fantasy film, about a presidential candidate with Morals and Scruples....

He was Uncle Ben in the Spider-Man movies and a WHOLE lot more, including a portrayal of young John F. Kennedy...

He passed away one day after his 88th birthday....

Goodbye, Cliff....

If nothing else, folks, get your hands on a copy of "Flowers for Algernon"...

It will stimulate your mind while simultaneously breaking your heart...
