These are the changes over several hours. The large unusual shape over the Arctic went from a Pocket Shape to a Diamond or Pentagon shape.
Is NASA causing this or is this otherworldly?
Does this have anything to do with October 10-14-08?

I concur google earth is not real time. My house i know is at least one year old on there. If you want strange objects and ellipses look to the skies my friend. Neat image though.

Google Earth is constantly updating its "Globe" with fresher photo strips. These strips are in long strips as that is the format of the camera's. It is most likely that you just happened to catch it in progress. More likely I think than a 1000 mile on a side space ship just appeared. Google Earth is not in real time any way. I think you need a girl friend, or a job.

The shape has been changing for weeks from smaller to larger as well as shape. It's probably because it takes time for the satelite images to return to Earth and reassemble as a complete photo. Also, Google says that the NASA images are 1-3 years old and not current. Only the weather is updated about every hour.

Today 10/10/08 the pentagon shape appeared when I clicked on the weather icon and disappeared when I unchecked it. Maybe a glitch in the weather map? Dunno. It sure will be interesting to continue watching. Thanks for the heads up.
