Not a dust devil crunchy.

Blow it up, apply unsharp masking filters, and you will see both you and Grey are missing something rather intriguing about this object.

It appears the bright lit portion is just a specular reflection of a portion of something lying at a 45 degree angle down and to the right of the bright spot.

It appears it is either a fallen tower, or possibly and curiously appears to look like a huge gun barrel complete with attached rectangular turret.

It looks battered...old..and the end of the 'gun barrel' where the anti recoil device is, looks like it's broken off.

The broken portion (with the bright spot) looks very similar to the anti recoil device on conventional tank gun barrels (used to vent gases).

Have a go at enhancing...you will see what i mean.

what we have here is a dust devil, nothing unusual.
im pretty sure this image has been discussed before or it was a simular picture with another dust devil
and again the original poster tryed to pass it off as a monolith.
