Description:

Prof. dr. Wubbo J. Ockels is a Dutch physicist, and also the Netherlands original astronaut. He is a Professor of Aerospace Sustainable Engineering and Technology at the University of Delft, and tries to stimulate a mentality change among Dutch citizens. In his mind-bending TEDxAmsterdam talk, Ockels explains how time is created by human beings, as a way our brains can make sense of gravity. The speed of light is constant, because it is made by us: its the clock by which we have calibrated our existence. Based on this premise, Ockels proposes a new way to explore life in our galaxy.

On January 18th 2000, I 'died' in a head-on car crash that left me in a coma for 2 weeks & suffering multiple life-threatening injuries. When I awoke from the coma, bit by bit a revelation of a memory from where I had been during my very near death moments became clearer on what I understood about 'life' beyond time. I remember existing beyond all of this/us in an instant, but an instant that was forever really. Time was irrelevant there! This is not to bend this round to an NDE, but Michael777's comments jogged my memory on this, a snap-shot of something else, but still very real & vivid years on. I know there have been tests to suggest that this is a 'close-down' effect of the mind/brain, but there are other neurological experts that say it cannot be a state of mind as only limited NDE's experiencers recall such events. The bottom line here is I had the medical proof, expert witness proof and I believe I really did touch that eternity briefly! So this video has some relevance to that moment in my understanding. Wishes to all, Mike VB

Time is actually an illusion of movement... All our so-called "time pieces" record movement in space, not movement in time. Time is the now... the same now it always was, and will always be so..
