The American linguist and philosopher Noam Chomsky arrived in the Gaza strip on Thursday night, received by the Islamic University of Gaza, to take part in 1st International Conference on Applied Linguistics and Literature that is held by the Faculty of Arts at IUG.

The conference provides a meeting place for researchers and practitioners in the areas of applied linguistics and literature to present and share their research findings in a stimulating and interactive environment.

Prof. Chomsky heads a delegation of 10 international intellectuals who arrived through Egypt's Rafah crossing. The members of the delegation are to participate in the conference and lead academic seminars.
