Strange Pink/red Anomaly seen in Malaysia and GOES Satellite on the same day Oct 2012

Strange anomaly seen in Malaysia and on GOES Satellite on the same day.. coincidence..I'm not to sure, The GOES satellite image is definitely odd. In one pic you can see its a sun dog but the pink doesn't look like a camera flare or part of the sun dog..what do you think?
