    Does look a lot different compared to the rocks laying around.

    Could be a shell from a turtle or tortoise like creature, or could even be the mummified carapace of a huge roach or beetle type of insect, that may have lived on Mars long ago.

    Honestly to me it looks like a Gilligan hat with smudge marks put on the front of it post pic.
