Iran's president meets with Russian counterpart in Moscow

Iran's outgoing President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has held talks with the Russian President at the Kremlin. They discussed bilateral ties between Moscow and Tehran, and in particular financial and energy sectors. The two leaders talked about the need to increase cooperation. They also stressed the importance of economic cooperation. The Iranian leader said that existing administrative obstacles can be overcome through joint efforts. The visit was part of the second summit of Gas Exporting Countries Forum, in which leaders of 13 nations talked about the situation in the natural gas sector around the world. Meanwhile, Iran's president met with Russia's elite, including leading experts, politicians and scientists. They discussed existing economic and political issues between Russia and Iran and discussed ways to strengthen their ties. During his Moscow visit, Iran's outgoing President has met with the Russian President and political and expert elite as well as the leaders of other nations. Discussing bilateral relations and geopolitical issues, Ahmadinejad announced his plans after stepping down from his post. While in Moscow, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had a busy schedule. He also visited Iranian citizens living in Russia.
