One of the highest volcanoes (5,450 meters) in Mexico - Popocatepetl or "Don Goyo" - continued to spew plumes of gas, steam and light amounts of ash on Thursday morning. In the past 24 hours, the volcano recorded 116 exhalations of low to moderate intensity, according to Mexico's National Disaster Prevention Centre. CENAPRED keeps a round-the-clock watch on the volcano, analyzing the data for signs of a full-scale eruption. Popocatepetl has already had 15 eruptions, the last major one occurring in 1947.
