Illegal Skin of Siberian tiger found in plastic bag ready to sell

The remains of a three-year old Siberian tiger were found in a plastic bag in the Russian region of Khabarovsk, on Monday. According to experts the animal was killed in the winter of this year by illegal hunters. Three bullet wounds of large diameter were found on the skin, one of which was located in the neck. The experts stated that the skin was removed professionally, indicating that poachers had intended to sell it. Since the beginning of this year, four criminal cases have been investigated in relation to illicit derivatives of Siberian Tiger, according to operatives of the Ministry of the Interior. The Siberian tiger, also called Amur tiger, is a subspecies inhabiting in the Russian Far East. Despite conservation efforts, the Siberian tiger population has slightly decreased with the remaining adult population around 250 specimens.
