BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- President Barack Obama arrived in Los Angeles Tuesday for an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

Air Force One touched down at Los Angeles International Airport at about 3:15 p.m. The president was greeted by Mayor Eric Garcetti.

The presidential motorcade arrived at the Burbank studios to a crowd of both supporters and opponents.

"It's not everyday you get to see the president," said Linda Riefer of Burbank.

In 2009, the president made history as the first commander in chief in office to appear on a late night talk show. He's now a talk show veteran.

On Tuesday night, he hopes to talk about his jobs plan, but he could face questions about the recent terror threat from Yemen.

The short stop is part of a two-day trip to Southern California. Mr. Obama will visit Camp Pendleton Wednesday.

Earlier Tuesday, the president was in Phoenix, Ariz., touring a construction company to help push his plan for housing reform.

"Let's make it a little bit easier for qualified buyers to buy the homes that they can afford," the president said.

Drivers in Burbank are being warned to be prepared for the congestion that street closures will bring to accommodate the presidential motorcade.

-- Hollywood Way and San Fernando Road

-- Hollywood Way and Burbank Boulevard

-- Hollywood Way and Alameda

-- Victory Boulevard and Canoga Avenue

-- Canoga Avenue and Burbank Boulevard
