Wildfires have burnt 450 hectares of land on the Spanish island of Mallorca, prompting the evacuation of 180 people. Emergency staff worked through the night to try to control the fire, and they expect to have it done by the evening, if the wind helps. It is the second largest fire in Mallorca this summer. In late July, a blaze destroyed more than 2,300 hectares of protected land elsewhere on the Mediterranean island.
