Plant stems, lots of green and a possible pond are among the features of some photos from the Mars Science Laboratory sol 51 photos. The one ground cover is so pervasive that I have given it an informal Latin name, terrainduco minimus or "small ground cover". For best results, go to the link, then drag and drop the photos, open and zoom in.
While it is true that on these photos I did enhance them to show the green (by reducing the lighting from the washed out photos), many of the Martian photos clearly show green vegetation without any enhancement.
