Complacency and apathy... Geesh...Don't people understand that when it matters, Ignorance is never Bliss, as it only means you will blissfully encounter an inevitable and negative circumstance which could have easily been avoided or alleviated by paying heed to reality. By opening your eyes and ears, (but more importantly moving your butt out of the couch or picnic table!) you can try and do your part in preventing the impending problem, so why adopt a defeatist mentality without even trying to know what the heck is going on around you?Little experiment: Take a random person from their home, and position them outside the front door. Place blindfold over eyes, yet before you insert the earplugs you explain how you managed to soak the entire house with 100 gallons of fuel and just lit the match. Conduct procedure 100 times using unique test subjects each time.Hypothesis: Random person would be mega-damn glad they knew what you were about to do as they could then stop you before you did it.Antithesis: Random person, after hearing your message, remains static and accepts the earplugs due to their theory that if they don't see or hear it, then they don't have to get involved. So which one do you think Random Persons 1 to 100 would do? Although the example is slightly extreme, my point is that by purposefully closing your attention to a problem or reality will never get rid of it, and if everybody behaved in a similar fashion, then all would be doomed. Might as well make an effort to make a positive change and incite others to follow too, as this way something might actually get done. It's this kind of mentality and behaviour that we have abandoned which is causing a lot of problems today. Stop worrying about whether your favorite TV character will get dumped or not in the next program, and certainly forget about caring what happens to Paris or Miley. Instead you should worry about what kind of world we have paved for our legacy, and what excuses we will give our descendants for having simply watched the world crumble at our feet. At the very least - Learn, teach, and always stay honest and truthful. By doing so, you can already create a positive and constructive change around you, and if you teach others to do the same, then your effect would be much larger than you could ever imagine.
