Deadly earthquake strikes southwest Pakistan

A magnitude 7.7 quake struck in Pakistan's Baluchistan province on Tuesday, leaving 370 people dead and affecting 10,000 others. The earth moved with enough force to create a small island visible off the southern coast after the huge tremor, Pakistani officials said. Medicines, water and food supplies are being prepared for thousands of residents in remote villages who were either injured or left homeless after collapse of their houses, made mostly of mud and handmade bricks.
