Dozens of people, including women and children, died Friday when a boat carrying an estimated 200 migrants capsized off the Sicilian island of Lampedusa. About 150 survivors have already been picked up by a Maltese ship, Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat told journalists. Lampedusa, a small Mediterranean island, is the destination of smugglers that ferry migrants from Libya or Tunisia to Europe. Another shipwreck off the island last week left more than 300 dead.
