Russian embassy in Damascus comes under insurgent attack [PressTV]

The Russian Embassy in the Syrian capital has come under militant attack.

Mortar fire struck the premises of the diplomatic mission in central Damascus. The attack left one Syrian dead and nine others injured. There were no Russian nationals among the casualties. Reports say there were two bomb explosions near the embassy following the mortar attack. The Russian compound has been targeted on several occasions in recent months by foreign-backed insurgents. They are angry by Moscow's continued backing for the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
