The floating, luminescent creature was filmed by locals as it slithered by just below the surface flashing a variety of colours as it went.
Since being uploaded to YouTube many locals have theorised that the strange creature is, in fact, an alien.
Alex Gordon-Lennox,22, spotted the creature and told the Daily Mail that it just appeared out of nowhere.
"I only noticed it because it was flashing and it was so bright. It floated down the water a bit and then it seemed to disappear.
"It looked like a jellyfish or a squid or something. It was amazing."

Even experts have been left scratching their heads, with marine biologist Dr Steve Simpson admitting that he "doesn't really know what to make of it."
"There is a possibility that it is a special type of jellyfish or a marine salp. It's very unusual and I haven't really seen anything like it before."
Speculation as to what the mysterious object could be has also erupted on Twitter.
User Adam Stevens jokingly wrote: "It's obviously Father Christmas's underwater sleigh."
While another user suggested that the creature may have escaped from the nearby Bristol Zoo.
Dr Simpson said there is a possibility the creature may have been swept into the harbour: "We are currently experiencing spring tides which may have dragged what this is from the sea.
