More tension over disputed islands in the East China Sea. Now the United States says it does not recognize China's new air defense zone there.
US Vice President Joe Biden, who's in South Korea on the third leg of his trip to East Asia, says China's move will not have any impact on US operations in the region. His comments come amid growing regional tensions over the territorial dispute. Biden earlier said that Beijing's declaration of an air defense zone created QUOTE apprehension across the continent. Biden's trip to Seoul follows his visit to China that was not successful in allaying Washington's concerns over Beijing's latest move. China defends its decision, saying it's in line with international law.
