Sunny Upskirt: 'Solar Coronal Hole Rotates Into View' [NASA SDO]

A large coronal hole rotates into view in this image of the sun taken in extreme ultraviolet light. Time interval was December 9 - 13, 2013. The dark area represents an area where the solar magnetic field is more open, allowing a stronger solar wind. Over the next few days, this wind is likely to impact Earth's magnetosphere, possibly causing auroras in the Earth's upper atmosphere.
