Islamabad targeting Taliban hideouts amid peace talks

It is rare to see Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the parliament these days. Every one here expects him to announce military operation against pro-Taliban militants who have surged their attacks against the security forces recently. Prime Minister comes down hard on the Taliban and says his administration can no longer tolerate the killing of innocent people. But his final policy announcement surprised many! Official sources say the government in fact has decided to start a targeted military action against the pro-Taliban militants not only in the tribal areas but also elsewhere in the country. And that's why ----tens of thousands of people from the tribal region have started fleeing in anticipation of military offensive that in the past led to displace some four million people. This man, the Law Minister of ruling party in the country's biggest province of Punjab, has disclosed that Islamabad intends to smash 174 safe heavens of the pro Taliban militants in southwest of Pakistan. Just few months back, Islamabad blamed the United States to have derailed the peace process with militants when CIA drone killed the head of Taliban in the country's tribal region.
