Threesomes in the baby making process to eliminate genetic defects

The Food and Drug Administration is conducting meetings about a fertility procedure that would use the DNA of three people, instead of the usual two. The addition of the third person's DNA would be to eliminate a genetic defect in newborns. Although the procedure was successful on both monkeys and humans a decade ago, researchers are asking the FDA to be able to test the procedure on humans again. Critics say that the research is a slippery slope that could lead to engineering humans, turning mankind into "designer babies." Perianne Boring sits down with RT producer Rachel Kurzius and comedian Lee Camp to discuss the implications - both funny and serious - of creating designer babies.
