John Kerry slams Russian military moves near Ukraine border as "provocative" [Mike Billington @ PressTV]

The US Secretary of State has criticized Russian troop movements along Ukraine's border as provocative.

John Kerry says Moscow's inflammatory rhetoric undermines Ukrainian stability and unity. Kerry made the remarks during a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. He also urged Russia to fully support efforts aimed at freeing an OSCE mission held by pro-Russian protesters in Slavyansk. For his part, Lavrov asked Washington to help secure the release of the leaders of pro-Russia rallies. The exchange of demands comes as the group of seven advanced economies, or G7, and the European Union have revealed plans to impose more sanctions on Moscow amid fears of Russian military operations in eastern Ukraine.
