Girl Search: 'Nigeria launches investigation to find abducted females' [Douglas Degroot @ PressTV]

The Nigerian authorities have launched an investigation to locate 22 girls and young women abducted by suspected Takfiri militants of Boko Haram in the northeastern state of Borno. Gunmen in military uniforms kidnapped the girls and women on Monday. Witnesses say the militants came in broad daylight and set many houses ablaze. Three villagers who tried to stop the militants were also kidnapped. The abduction occurred near the town of Chibok, where Boko Haram kidnapped more than 200 teenagers in mid-April. Eight weeks after the kidnapping, the government has still not been able to locate or rescue the hostages. And the Nigerian police have imposed a ban on demonstrations demanding that the government make more efforts to obtain the release of the schoolgirls.
