06/13/14 - I was filming an impressive thunderstorm above my house (with my brand new Canon 700D) an that was amazing. When I watched the video in full screen, I noticed strange lights appearing close to lightning bolts. I tried to catch some other objects, and I did. Overall, seven objects appeared in the video.

✖ WARNING: NO BALL LIGHTNING ✖

This is not the ball lightning phenomenon that happened here.
I inquired about it (some of you know me well), and here's what I've found.

I compared the phenomenon and what happened in my video ↓↓
In "normal" life \ VS / in my video :

- Electric balls are extremely rare.
✖ These objects appear by groups in my video.

- They fly at a close distance from the ground.
✖ They are extremely high and appear close to the lightning bolts.

- When this phenomenon happens, it's usual to see only ONE ball.
✖ There are seven objects here! (1, then 2, then 4, then 1)

- Electric balls always move when they appear.
✖ These objects are static, no movement noticed here.

- Electric balls are almost never larger than a motorbike
✖ If these objects are far in the sky, it let's you imagine their size.

- These balls are not "physical objects", they're not solid.
✖ Here they are lighted by the thunder: they ARE solid objects.

As you can see, nothing about real lighting balls corresponds to what happened to me. Any half-brained person will tell you that they are not electric balls. I don't want to to read "Lightning ball" in the comments :-)

Would suggest they are weather balloon probes, and the charged skin of the balloon is discharging into the cloud. Its common to release balloons into such storms to measure air pressure, windspeed, etc .... especially near airports, where predicting size and movement can be life or death.

Or, you've accidentally photographed an advancing alien first strike wave, in which case they will be eating your brain in the next few hours.

    Hard to say really....

    OMG!
This is my personal opinion, but.....
to me when i slow it down and look at it in still pix, I get a sense of a larger craft, these "ufo's" look like windows to me. Then when i play it forward slowly ,the lightning strikes are actually being reflected off the windows of the cloaked crafts. it looks like each lightning bolt is in a certain area of the sky, and in that area the light reflects off any windows that are on the craft in that so called area. The one with the four "windows" really looks roundish, like the four windows are around the edge of a saucer shaped craft. Maybe?

    Interesting, thanks.

I've seen videos where huge UFOs, whatever they ultimately are, seem to be attracted to large electrical storms and actively follow the direction of the lightening, seemingly gaining something from the interaction with the storm...energy replenishment seems likely.

Perhaps this is another example caught on camera of one of these 'refuelling' stops for whatever is flying around our planet?
