    valid point.but there have been centuries since their demise and now.why pick 2012 and not 1344 or 1401 or 1772 etc..it was of some importance.peace and thanx for the comment.

    did anyone stop and think that maybe the Maya did not continue their calendar past 2012 because they knew that the Maya culture itself would not be around that long???
