In his lecture talk titled "Appreciating Imagination" Terence McKenna reveals some of the secrets regarding timewave zero and the mushroom-induced prophecy.
I found this talk to be a much more accurate representation of 2012 and McKenna's philosophy than is normally spewed out as a surface-level thinking on McKenna's works.
