I find it hilarious that after so many years of them saying we cannot go to the moon for whatever reasons, the solution now is to basically copy what they did back in the late 60's! (5:20) Nobody else find his statement a little FUBAR?Wonder how many NASA guys are kicking themselves for not thinking of that before! Actually I know how many, none! Because by duping the nation's citizens into believing that they are working on something of great public interest, they've managed to secure their jobs via funding for NASA. What a bunch of geeky con-artists!

I'm no rocket scientist, but wouldn't launching craft from Earth orbit be a more feasible means of beginning the first phase. Understandably the the machines would need to be assembled on terra firma, however assembly of a large space craft could be done in space and hence, the lauch could be initiated from low Earth orbit. Seems Apollo, working with more primative technology and limited understanding of space travel was able to overcome the "escape velocity" dilemma. I may be a stupid tax payer but it seems the billions dedicated to NASA over the last 40 years may have been better spent... Then again maybe it has...?
