Does the person who posted this know if the cat that was alive was given a home? that would be too much to expect of humans!!!

I don't wanna spoil your sadness but the cat isn't giving cardiac massage. Like she know how a heart works?! What she is doing is called "triftraffen" (that is in Dutch but Google Translate says it's the same in English) or trampling. Cats do this when they have been taken away from their mother too soon. Which would be the case with a stray cat. It's a natural movement to get milk from their mother. They will keep doing this the rest of their lives and can't be unlearned. How do I know this? My cat has been doing the same for over 10 years. And yes, its is a for of love.
