    i've seen quite a few videos of rods as well as parachutes. I do not believe that this object is part of the chute, as it's only there in a few frames and nowhere else. Also it is fairly straight, nothing like that on the edge of the chute. I don't think it's a classic "rod" either. It looks to me similar to an object called "the thing" which is described as being dark, tubelike, between 4ft-12ft long,with what appears in some images to be a flat tail, similar to a birds tail feathers but solid.
