These things are turning up in Eastern Europe and Russia in fresh water ditches, lakes and underground streams.
Can you identify it? It's not a horseshoe crab, freshwater, kinda seem mean as well. This one is small, but they are claiming up to 3 foot long (which I think is probably BS, but makes for a good story.)

its a triop otherwise known as a shield shrimp. they are harmless and sold in hobby stores with sea monkeys as pets

Yer i thought it may have been a horseshoe carb but........ Horse shoe crabs are arachnids, meaning they have 3 parts to their body, that thing was jointed. I'd say it would be part of the chordata or analid phylum

With 224,000,000 miles of unexplored oceans to play around in lots of things we haven't seen yet may still be out there swimming and oozzzzzing along.Since we know more about the planet Pluto than we do about our seas maybe taking a dip at the sea shore is a bigger gamble than we thought.Armored Bikinis may be the next hot style.

No matter how advanced we may seem to get, being able to record video and upload it to a network - we're basically just monkeymen poking stuff with sticks.
