He is one of Britain's leading economic forecasters, and was on the Treasury Panel that advised the Chancellor of the Exchequer between 1992 and 1997. Professor Congden is also the author of a number of books, contributes to the financial press and is author of the Bruges Group Papers. He is a member of the Bruges Group's Academic Advisory Council.
