This is great information and the dissection of the NLP techniques being used is excellent. However, as a fan of the Colbert Report, we who have watched his show from the beginning know exactly what Stephen is doing...he's mocking the very NLP "techniques" so aptly described by Djinn But, by blatantly using these techniques, he is exposing them for what they are...manipulations. Colbert is NOT part of the problem, Djinn, but is exposing it via tongue in cheek humor. Yes, his "interviews" are very annoying, but that's how they are designed to be...just like the interviews that people buy into who watch FOX. The difference? We don't buy...we get it and we laugh!

The actions by the talking head are indicative of so very many of his kind. He was very rude to his guest and provided no viable argument or input of any kind. Presumably, the prof was invited to be a guest on the program to provide his viewpoint and input to the subject yet he was merely subjected to antagonism and insults. A reasonable response by the prof would have been to announce that the interview was a farce and leave the set immediately. The verbal and body language responses to the professor appear to come very easily to the news shill and are meaningless to the subject of the program. His responses are off the cuff yet immediate in reaction to the professor%u2019s words. Can this be due to practice? Coaching? Experience %u2013 obviously he has done this many time previously? Prompting by someone sinister off screen? A natural mean spirited schoolyard bully personality? Just asking. Gotta wonder why this seems to come so easily to so many of the talking heads. A right thinking corporation would surely immediately fire such a representative that would treat a guest this way on national television- Unless this was within the agenda of the corporation. Hmmmmm%u2026%u2026. Not all of us are fooled. Thanks for pointing out the details.

Yay finally :) Good job! Hope millions of people see this video and understand. I threw my TV away in April, after I saw this kind of "report" on TVA a TV station here in Quebec (Canada). Long live the internet! :)
