I think you have eliminated much of the US by over analyzing the problem. Consider these observations: 1. Land is cheap in rural areas of the northern US2. An indoor garden utilizing Aquaponics will provide you with more food than you can eat, thereby giving you food for barter.3. All you need is a small house/cabin to survive quite happily4. Cold weather will inhibit those that would want to take from you if you can hold them off in the cold (a little defense planning will provide additional security)5. Small communities will accept you if you establish yourself there before problems arise thereby giving you the security of the small community where you can barter your excess food supply.You will not be living alone as a hermit, unless you want to, then just remove the community observation and you still have a good place to live above the frost line.

Good work. I once made an "end of the world" map. I used a nuclear target map (nuclear holocaust), overlaid with a sea level rising map(ice caps melting), a virus map (biological warfare), and an earthquake map....by the time I was done, there was very little room left....kinda scary actually.Good video.
