Although drilling for domestic oil does not have a huge impact on the price of global oil and gas at the pump as you rightly pointed out. It does however do several things. It keeps the dollars spent for oil in the United States and dramatically lowers our trade imbalance with the rest of the World. It also keeps the control and guarantees of a supply of energy, a national security issue, in our hands and out of the hands of the despot countries who are out to see our destruction!! In time, the alternate sources of energy will be ready to take the place of oil. In the interim, we had better drill!!

Sure buddy, go save yourself 4 cents per gallon four years from now.Meanwhile our dependency expands and the price inflates 15% each year.Good think'n. Way to use that noodle.If you insist on letting your knowledge of world and domestic events to be informed by the very people whose agendas are to keep you blissfully ignorant than go right ahead but don't call me anti-american because I can think critically and independently on the important issues of our time.
