Many fruit trees and other plants have gone extinct or are very rare because they taste bad or not used/needed by man. A umbrella tree is very common and has long beans that sometimes grows in odd shapes.Anyway it's not out of the relm of possibilty these holy men kept this useless rare fruit tree around and keep it sacred.
