Old covenant represents the Rabbinic system whilst the New Covenant, the Narrow Gate. The Parable of the Wide Gate and the wide Road represent the Old Covenant of Rabbi and the written Torah. These Rabbis became greedy and hypocrite fleecing the simple-minded devotees, the stones, by offering them the wide road and the wide Gate to suit the individual. So, the Rabbis pushes them onto this wide Road by orders or force giving them threats of sins. As the Rabbis started to love Mammon and not God, they became cheat and hypocrites. That needed the very Royal Priest of our Father Christ in the name of Jesus to appear. Simeon summarised the purpose of the coming of Jesus into this world as to opening the Narrow Gate for the Solitary into the Vineyard of our Father where the True Vine Christ Jesus is planted by our Father, the Gardner. So, only the sensible twice-born people who seek His Word would find this Gate and enter into the Vineyard of our Father on solitary basis.
So, you need to ask, seek and knock for Salvation.
