12/1/2011 -- Sakurajima daily explosive eruption -- flank of volcano covered again

Daily eruptions occur at Sakurajima Volcano in Japan. Sometimes large ash, other times, large amounts of lava are ejected. The flank of the volcano (bottom two video panels and top left) have built up over the past several months. An elevated alert level still exists for this volcano, issued by the Japanese agency which monitors this area.. the threat of a LARGE eruption with multiple KM ash fallout and pyroclastic flow.
