This earthquake occurred close to a VERY old dormant cone volcano in the middle of the highlands of mongolia -- called in Russian " " (Vulcan Khatan Sudal) . This is keeping with the GLOBAL pattern of noticeable earthquakes occurring near deep "shaft" sites.. whether it be fracking, oil well drilling, nuclear reactor methane layer drilling, or volcanic areas with deep tubes/vents... a noteworthy increase / number of earthquakes have occurred these past few month near these type of sites. earthquake.usgs.gov Earthquake Details This event has been reviewed by a seismologist.
